Chapter Spotlight
NAAIA Central Virginia
Chartered in 2022, the NAAIA Central Virginia Chapter has quickly established itself as a dynamic and impactful presence within the association. Serving professionals across the Central Virginia region, the chapter brings together leaders from across the insurance ecosystem to support professional development, leadership growth, and industry advancement.
Rooted in a region rich with insurance and financial history, NAAIA Central Virginia draws inspiration from Richmond’s legacy as the birthplace of innovation and progress. From William Washington Browne’s founding of the nation’s first Black-owned bank through an insurance-based mutual aid model, to Maggie Walker’s visionary use of insurance to build the Order of St. Luke and establish the first woman and minority-owned bank in the country, Central Virginia has long been a proving ground for what is possible when access and opportunity align.
Named NAAIA’s 2025 Chapter of the Year, NAAIA Central Virginia is recognized for its leadership, consistency, and commitment to honoring the past while building a strong future for insurance professionals today. Through intentional programming, community engagement, and strategic partnerships, the chapter continues to elevate its members and advance NAAIA’s mission nationwide.
