Washington, DC – The National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) announced today recent leadership changes within its Board of Directors, repositioning board members to roles in support of the association’s Vision 2030 strategic plan.

Rebekah Ratliff, Mediator and Arbitrator at JAMS, was elevated to the role of Board Secretary. Ratiliff was elected to the national board in December 2022, and serves also as the chair of the board’s ad-hoc Committee on governance, charged with the revision of association bylaws.

Additionally, James Hutchinson, Chief Marketing Officer & President, Agency Services at High Street Insurance Partners, was appointed to the national board to fill the vacancy created by Ngozi Nnaji’s resignation. Hutchinson was initially elected to the board in 2020 and he will serve as the chair of the Agent Engagement and Development Committee.

“I am excited to congratulate Rebekah and welcome her to the national board’s executive committee, where her experience as a former chapter president, entrepreneur, and strong global relationships will add tremendous value,” said George Woods, Chair of NAAIA’s Board of Directors. “I’m also immensely grateful that James, with his deep connections with carriers and brokers/agents, has agreed to stay on the board in a new leadership role supporting our agent and broker members as we work to provide more value and opportunity.”

Additionally, Woods appointed the following board members as committee chairs: Susan Johnson as Finance Chair; Clive McCarthy as Chapter Development and Membership Chair, Owie Lei Agbontaen as Emerging Leaders Chair, Michele Lamarre as Marketing Chair, Dwight Geddes as Programs Chair, and Sherita Hardy as Nominations & Elections Chair.
