NAAIA Announces Milestone Phoenix Chapter Chartering

Washington, DC – NAAIA proudly announces the chartering of the Phoenix Chapter, a significant step in its western expansion to enhance its nationwide network of Black professionals and professionals of color in the insurance and risk management industry. The National Board approved the charter on January 24. Covering the Phoenix metropolitan area, the chapter, led by President Robert Branscomb II and Vice President Cesar Varela, is set to be a dynamic hub for networking, professional development and talent access.

“I am honored to lead the NAAIA Phoenix Chapter and excited about the opportunities it will create,” expresses Branscomb. “Together, we aim to elevate the insurance profession, foster meaningful connections, and contribute to the vibrant insurance community in Phoenix.”

Commenting on NAAIA’s continued growth, Clive McCarthy, NAAIA National Board Member and Chapter Development Chair states, “The establishment of the NAAIA Phoenix Chapter is a testament to our dedication to building strong localized networks within the insurance industry. We are confident that under the leadership of Robert, Cesar and team, the Phoenix Chapter will thrive and contribute significantly to the growth of NAAIA.

Omari Aarons-Martin, NAAIA’s Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, emphasizes, “The addition of the Phoenix Chapter underscores NAAIA’s commitment to expanding our reach and empowering Black insurance professionals to build community whenever we are. We look forward to witnessing the growth and success of the Phoenix Chapter, reflecting our ongoing commitment to building strong chapters across the US.”

The National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) was organized to create a network among people of color and others employed in or affiliated with the insurance industry. The association currently has 2,100 members and 24 chapters, with others in development, throughout the nation and its members represent every sector of the industry.
