Meet Krista Scott, Assistant Vice President-Territory Manager at Zurich North America, where she contributes to the development and support of Zurich’s distribution strategy. With an extensive background in Middle Market Property & Casualty underwriting, Krista began her career at Travelers and then later The Hartford, where she built a reputation for her expertise in navigating complex risks across various industries and territories.

Beyond her professional achievements, Krista is a dedicated leader in the insurance community. As the President of the NAAIA Dallas Fort Worth Chapter, she actively advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the industry.She also founded a self-endowed scholarship with Millikin University, which was created to financially support minority women and first generation college students. Her commitment to service extends beyond her career, as she is also a passionate volunteer in her community, dedicated to uplifting underserved populations and mentoring future leaders in insurance.

Krista’s leadership and impact have been widely recognized. In 2021, she was named a Rising Star by Insurance Business America, and in 2024, she earned both the prestigious RISE “35 Under 35” Award and NAAIA’s Emerging Leader Award, solidifying her place as one of the industry’s most promising professionals.

How has your involvement with NAAIA, both locally and nationally, influenced your leadership journey and your vision for the future of the insurance industry?

I first connected with NAAIA and NAAIA DFW in 2019, and was immediately drawn to their mission and goals. I quickly became involved, starting as a committee member, and from there, I gained invaluable insights from fellow members and chapters. This experience helped me refine my skills, collaborate with a wide range of organizations and companies, and most importantly, develop confidence in my own value. NAAIA truly empowered me to voice my desire for change within my community and the insurance industry. The adage ‘you get out what you put in’ holds especially true for this organization. Through its resources, mentorship, and sponsorship, I’ve been able to grow both personally and professionally. A bonus? The relationships I’ve built—strangers who quickly became family. All of these experiences within NAAIA have profoundly shaped my leadership style and sharpened my vision for fostering innovation, diversity, and inclusion in the future of the insurance industry.
